Dr. W.S McBirnie
Author, Biblical Scholar, Professor of Church Administration, Radio Commentator, Minister and Humanitarian. All of these terms describe Dr. William Steuart McBirnie, a man equally adept at delivering a moving sermon from the pulpit, lecturing in a graduate school classroom, or personally supervising the distribution of medicine, food, and other supplies to disaster victims in the far-flung corners of the world.
He was President of California Graduate School of Theology, Glendale, California. He also served for 22 years as Professor of Church Architecture, Archeology, and Church Administration.
Dr. W.S. McBirnie served for 30 years as a news analyst on the " Voice of Americanism", which was broadcast daily on a nationwide network of radio stations. He is frequently heard on television over Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN).
He is the author of more than 1100 books and booklets on topics ranging from Biblical subjects to national defense.
He was one of the founders of the Interfaith Committee, which is comprised of religious leaders and lay people throughout the world.
Born in Toronto, Canada, his father was a minister, his mother a concert cellist. He is a deeply devoted American citizen.
Dr. McBirnie holds a doctorate from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He came to California in 1961 to become Senior Minister of the then newly-formed United Community Church.
He has been knighted twice (Knights of Malta, Order of St. John) and was the second person to receive the Israeli Pilgrim's Medal (Pope Paul was the first recipient).
